Fishing.  Scott Lake is stocked yearly with trout and is just a short 10 minute drive from the ranch. Fishing equipment is available for you usage, but bringing a rod or two and some glitter power bait may increase your chances of catching a fish.  Note that you will need a license if you plan on fishing at Scott Lake.

Archery and Target Practice. Try your hand at archery on the Ranch archery course with our experienced archery instructor Trevor. A variety of bows are available for you to use, including traditional recurve bows and compound bows. Or you can practice target shooting at the nearby range with a variety of firearms under the supervision of one of our instructors.

Kayaking. Enjoy kayaking on nearby Scott lake which is just 10 minutes from the ranch. What better way to enjoy the White Mountains scenery than by kayaking or standup paddleboarding. We have two one person kayaks and one standup paddleboard.  Our staff members will provide transportation to the lake, kayaks, life vests and a brief training session so you and family can enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring Lakeside's most scenic lake.

ThunderHorse Ranch

Horseback Riding. Thunderhorse Ranch has different options for horseback riding. Experienced equestrians enjoy bringing their horses up to the ranch and using one of the horse corrals. We also have horses which are privately owned and available for you to use under instruction by local wranglers. The wranglers will teach you how to ride correctly during our horse orientation on Monday, and they will also go out on each trail ride to visit with the guests and make sure the ride is enjoyable and safe.

Activity Inclusive Stays.  For guests staying of five (5) days or more, our staff will help you enhance your stay with a variety of outdoor activities, both on the ranch and off-site. On the ranch activities include archery lessons, horseback riding and a weekly western barbecue. Off ranch activities include firearms instruction/target practice, kayaking, standup paddleboarding, fishing and mountain biking.   Advance reservations required for activity included stays and an activity fee will be charged depending on the size of group and activities requested. Subject to terms and conditions described in activities reservation form.
